Project: Shale gas horizontal well in Sichuan of CNPC project (Well YS108H1-1)

In 2013, PKF AiiDrill OBM self-developed by Petro-king was utilized in well YS108H1-1 (shale gas horizontal well of CNPC in Sichuan province). TD @ 4115m, TVD @ 2546.69 m, the Max. inclination @ 94.04°, Horizontal displacement @ 1728.31m, horizontal hole section @ 1351 m, open hole section @ 2547 m, the Max. mud density @ 2.15 S.G, overcame successfully the difficulties of the formation Shiniulan with the property of being apt to collapse & alternative formation from soft to hard and obtained unanimously praise from all parties.  In the subsequent service of the block, the Max. oil based mud weight was up to 2.19 S.G. in well YS1081-6, which set a new record in this block. The accumulative footage was 2777 m during OBM application and OBM mud weight was 2.19 S.G. while total depth reached, which overcame technical difficulties of the formation Shiniulan with the property of collapsing and low ROP and laid the foundation for OBM application in this area. And then followed-up eighteen wells were drilled with OBM in this well group.
