Project Background

Well T912CH, in Tahe Oilfield of SINOPEC, is a slim horizontal well, and therefore it is difficult to separate oil layer from water layer with cementing. The cementing quality cannot be ensured, and it is difficult to drill out cement plug in the small casing.

?Solution?

In the horizontal section of the well, a slotted screen was used; oil swellable packer was run above the oil layer and in the casing, and the two packers were connected with the small casing. This separated oil from water effectively, no need to cement, drill out cement and perforation, improved the development efficiency of slim hole sidetracking horizontal wells significantly.

Achievement

Petro-king has successfully used the technology in the slim hole sidetracking horizontal well T912CH for the first time, initiating an economic, efficient and revolutionary idea for completion of oil and gas wells in fields. After flow well, the wellhead pressure was 15MPa, the daily oil production rate is 120m3.
